Triggering doesn’t begin to capture what my week was like, after watching this movie last Saturday night. If your journey includes suicide or suicide attempts in your life, including you or someone close to you, you might want to just skip it. You can’t unsee certain things.
And I love horror movies! Almost all kinds of horror movies! They are great fun!
I loved Ari Aster’s earlier movie, Hereditary. Saw it twice in the theater.
Midsommer’s first scary scene makes Hereditay’s first scary scene look like pre-school.
That being said, my partner says “I gotta tell ya, honestly, that was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time.” And don’t get me wrong, it is a great fucking movie. Just…triggering.
